3D-printing technology allows for the construction of complex microstructures. Therefore the problem of designing novel metamaterials became important for applications. We discuss the concept of synthesis of exotic metamaterials having a specific behavior and we show some theoretical and experimental results. We believe to be close to the design of metamaterials remaining elastic under large deformations.
