Abstracts:

Analytical solution of the flange ideal plastic flow during thin-walled cylinder shell drawing is presented. Plane stress theory with Mises yield criterion, developed by Sokolovskii, is used. The plastic stress state is given in the parameter form solution, followed by calculations of the radial velocity, the initial thickness variation and slip lines on the workpiece flange. The limit relation of the workpiece diameter to the matrix diameter, constrained by maximal tension stress on the matrix contour, in the case of Mises yield criterion is lower compared with the cylinder shell deep drawing theory based on Tresca yield criterion.
