Abstracts:
The problem of fracture mechanics for the composite body, weakened by longitudinal shear cracks was considered. The fracture model of composite materials with the periodic structure, based on consideration of a zone of fracture process formed near the crack tip was proposed. The zone of fracture process is represents as a layer of finite length containing a material with partially broken bonds between its separate structural elements (the end zone) and considered as a part of a crack. The bonds between the crack surfaces are modelled by applying to crack surfaces cohesive forces caused by bonds. Analysis of the limit equilibrium of shear cracks in the end zone model is performed on the basis of non-local fracture criterion with the force condition of the crack tip motion and deformation condition for determining the motion faces of the end zone cracks.
