As part of the small parameter method we investigate the influence of gravity on the stress-strain state of a cylindrical tube that is subjected to uniform radial internal and external loads. In the plastic zone of the pipe material is modeled by a incompressible elastic-visco-plastic medium. The effect of gravity and physical and mechanical parameters of the environment on the development of elastic-plastic boundary is assessed.
