Editor-in-Chief
B. G. Mironov was born on 1 December 1960. In 1982 he graduated with honours from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical Institute, specialty "Mathematics and Physics". He holds the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and the academic title of Professor.
In 2011–2016 he served as Rector of the I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University. Since 2018 he has headed the Department of Higher Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Russian University of Transport (MIIT) in Moscow.
Research interests
A student of the scientific school of Professor D. D. Ivlev — the founder of the journal and one of the founders of the theory of the ideally plastic body and the mechanics of the limit state. B. G. Mironov is a specialist in the mechanics of a deformable solid, the theory of plasticity and the limit states of inhomogeneous structures.
His research addresses the limit state of inhomogeneous rigid-plastic rods under torsion and external pressure: the characteristics of the governing relations, the stress-discontinuity lines and the integrals of the governing equations under various plasticity conditions. He has obtained solutions for prismatic rods of rectangular cross-section with a linearly varying yield limit, and has studied the torsion of anisotropic rods and of rods made of a hardening material under variable external pressure in a linearized formulation.
Role in the journal
As Editor-in-Chief, B. G. Mironov heads the editorial board of Vestnik Chuvashskogo Gosudarstvennogo Pedagogicheskogo Universiteta im. I. Ya. Yakovleva. Seriya: Mekhanika Predel'nogo Sostoyaniya (Mechanics of Limit State), setting the journal's editorial policy and taking final decisions on manuscripts.
