The editorial office is responsible for the quality of the published materials and for upholding publication ethics at every stage of work with a manuscript.

• to make publication decisions on the basis of the scientific merit, reliability and novelty of the work, regardless of the authors' race, gender, nationality, position or beliefs;
• to ensure the confidentiality of manuscripts and the impartiality of peer review;
• to avoid conflicts of interest when handling manuscripts and to exclude from the process any material in which a member of the editorial office has a conflict of interest;
• to consider complaints and concerns relating to publication ethics and to take well-founded measures;
• not to use unpublished material from submitted manuscripts in their own research without the written consent of the authors.

Misconduct and its resolution

Where research or publication misconduct is confirmed (plagiarism, falsification or fabrication of data, duplicate publication, authorship disputes), the editorial office may reject the manuscript and, in the case of an already published article, issue a correction or retract it, with an appropriate notice. No fees are charged to authors at any stage of the editorial process.
