Ideal plastic flow analysis of a thin-walled cylindrical can extrusion by the rigid punch is given for Tresca full plasticity yield criterion. The slip lines, contact pressure and velocity hodographs of plastic flow are calculated for the sphere and cone punches, with Prandtl’s contact friction consideration and positive plastic dissipation function control. Contact pressures and the punch mean pressure relations versus the punch contact boundary, friction and the can wall thickness are calculated.
