Abstracts: | This paper presents a solution to the problem of growing a cylindrical solids. The process of volumetric growth in the extension area is considered. The solution of the problem is obtained within the framework of the model of small elastic deformations. Three configurations of a solid are introduced into consideration: natural, virtual, actual. The distributions of displacements and stresses during the process of growth are calculated.
